Harsh Electrical Environment

The complex interaction of 12V, 24V and 48V (Mild-Hybrid) systems in modern vehicles creates serious stress on electronic components (ESA). Noise created by an alternator (Ripple), voltage drop at engine start (Cranking) or a cable break (Interruption) carry critical risks in terms of safety.

As Consept, with our programmable high-power DC sources and signal generators; we apply the most demanding manufacturer and military standards such as VW 80000, MBN 10284, Toyota TSC and MIL-STD 1275 one-to-one.

Load Dump

Simulation of high energy pulses (100V+) occurring as a result of alternator load shedding.

Start Profiles

Voltage drop profiles to 3V levels during Cold and Warm start.

Superimposed AC

Alternator noise (Ripple) durability superimposed on DC voltage.

MIL-STD 1275

"Spike" and "Surge" pulses for 28V Military vehicles.

Voltage Quality & Variations

  • Operating Voltage Range: Operation stability at low and high voltage limits.
  • Superimposed Alternating Voltage: AC components on DC line (Ripple).
  • Start Pulses:
    - Cold Start (Normal)
    - Warm Start (Short)
  • Voltage Dips & Drops: Sudden voltage drops and fluctuations.

Transient & Surge

  • Load Dump (ISO 7637-2 / ISO 16750-2): High energy occurring when battery connection is disconnected.
  • Injected Voltage Spikes: Needle pulses injected into lines.
  • Injected Voltage Surges: High voltage fluctuation injection (Military/Civil).
  • Transient Undervoltage: Transient low voltage situations.

Connection Faults & Continuity

  • Pin Interruption: Interruption of connector pins in microseconds.
  • Connector Interruption: Complete connection break simulation.
  • Short Circuit: Short circuit of I/O pins to power or ground.
  • Reverse Polarity: Reverse battery connection test.
